Pretty sure I've been doing the Genre Challenge for years; I've always been an eclectic reader.

I’m so happy about your son’s birthday wish. My 3 kids also like to read, to greater or lesser degrees, and every year in their Christmas stocking they get a gift card for the local bookstore.

Please share what he thinks about They Both Die at the End… I was debating adding that one to my TBR.

Oh - love themes. Some years my book club has done themes like these. I think I’ll share your list with them to consider for this year, as we haven’t yet picked all our books.

Love the idea of these challenges! I'm a huge list maker so being able to cross things off as I read helps keep me motivated

EVEN LOVERS DROWN is just out and it’s a great read… do the lovers drown’ in the end? Well written, easy to read on the beach or in bed… it has a fascinating history twist (true) about the IRA inviting Nazi soldiers into Southern Ireland during the War . (Who knew?)

Author is A M Walker. On kindle, paperback and hardback. Waterstones.

I liked many of the 2025 Challenge ideas. But I loved 🥰 your story of taking your son to B&N and his attachment to reading 📖 I find it so very exciting and satisfying when I have passed a passion of mine to someone else. My nephew and I have a reading relationship and I for one adore it.

Thanks 🙏 for bringing up wonderful memories. I think I’ll send him a book 📕 today.
