Ok, so I know this is a BIG statement, but there is one thing I ALWAYS stand by when it comes to building your author platform.
The journey of growing your social media and email list need a shift. I want you to go from feeling overwhelmed by slow growth to understanding that every small step contributes to big changes over time.
And that advice is this:
Keep pushing, even when it feels like you’re not making progress. Those baby steps you take every day, no matter how small, add up over time.
In fact, I’ve seen this firsthand with my clients. One client started with just 300 readers in her Facebook group when we began working together two years ago. Now, she’s approaching 1500 engaged readers who actively seek out her group because they love her books.
Another client had an email list of 0 when we started working together less than a year ago. She’s now at 800 subscribers, and we’ve even converted some of them into enthusiastic ARC readers.
So this is your reminder today that persistent effort, even in small increments, leads to significant growth.
And you can start to achieve this by continuing to engage with your audience, sharing your passion, and building those connections. Every post, every email, every interaction counts and brings you closer to your goals!
I would love to know what are some of your current goals you are working on.
Happy writing, Melissa
P.S. Here are 3 things I’m obsessing over right now.
Retro Keyboard
Not that I want to go back to the days of typewriters, but there is something so vintage-y (is that a word?) and cool about the look of these retro keyboards. Check out the one I’m debating on order here.
Bookish Tea Bags
Tea bags with bookish quotes? Yes, please! I had a friend gift me these last year and they are the perfect afternoon pick me up. Fall is right around the corner, and I need to restock! Check them out.
Visual Timer
I get it. It’s a timer. But, if like me, you have ADHD or you struggle with losing track of the time, visually seeing the time go by it a complete game-changer.
A visual timer is perfect for writing sprints, keeping track of the time you spend on social media, and even just motivating you when you’re doing small tasks that you often get sidetracked completing.
If you want to give it a try, check out a free version on your computer or phone. If you like to keep things off-line, try one of these.
