Thank you for mentioning support for a Canadian author! As for me, having no loved ones to be around at Christmas (and remembering the Christmases that used to be), the best thing for me to do is just work my security shifts, and probably help out those who find they have celebrated a little too enthusiastically. And, one new tradition has evolved for me, I will get to go to a live NHL game on New year's Day, courtesy of my employers.

Always very happy to support Canadians as many of my great-grandparents and further back came from there. I know what you mean. Christmas will not be the same. AH! how exciting. I love going to hockey games. The last one my family went to was in Minnesota. I hope you have a fun time.

Was it the Wild, or a more local game? For me, I will enjoy it if my Winnipeg Jets beat the Toronto Maple Leafs! But I get an excellent seat, in the area I chose, a few rows back behind the Visitors' goal. This is because my heroes are the goaltenders, even though I love to see my team score. But this way I get to be behind either Hellebuyck or Comrie for two out of three periods, plus hopefully watch the d-men box out the opposing forwards to the walls and clear. I can watch my forwards score on the giant screen.

The Wild. Although the Red Wings are my home team, it was still fun to watch.

All of the teams we just mentioned, that are situated in places where kids play hockey outside from a young age. The energy in those buildings at those games is off the charts!

Yep! I grew up in Detroit when the Wings had their best era. It was magical. And watching channel 9 hockey commentary was always fun.

You are right about the mix of feelings the holidays can bring. Emotions seem to be heightened at this time of year. Like you, I find great comfort in stories
