I can't think of a more lovely afternoon than watching Titanic and drinking tea :D I love a good tea.

The Jack and Rose story dominates a lot of people's impressions but it's a genuinely cinematic movie in a way that isn't done anymore. I mean, it was barely done in the nineties which is why the movie was so big. James Cameron captures not just a romance between two people but the romance of the time, the dream of this ship and the magnitude of what happened that night. My vote is definitely watch it.

Thank you for this post. I will have to admit, I am not a tea drinker; I am a black coffee - the stronger the better, no milk, no cream, no sugar, nothing else - drinker. I am told that in Starbuck's, this is called an Americano. Sometimes I even order a shot of espresso thrown into the coffee, and have been told that in a "real" coffee shop where the staff know their stuff, this is actually called a 'redeye'. But when we are out of coffee, in an emergency, I will drink black tea (4 bags to a mug).

As far as the movie, I recall having been forced to sit through it shortly after it came out on DVD, but remember almost nothing. Most interesting to me was and still is the evolution of Leonardo DiCaprio from his character in that movie to the gritty one in 'The Departed', and the kinds of characters he plays now. I don't think you have to see it, as long as you understand the history of what actually took place. Actually, you might even be better off not having seen it.

I actually think that, as it is good for me to step outside of my main area of historical fiction and horror genres once in a while, I might read the 'Dress of Violet Taffeta' book soon.

Yes! An Americano. I’m a coffee in the morning tea at night kind of drinker.

I must admit the only Decaprio movie I’ve seen is Inception.

Let me know if you read it! It really sent me down some interesting rabbit trails looking at news articles that were published post-sinking of the Titanic.

Thanks as always for shopping in!

The Band that Played On is a book that I read years ago but lingers in my memory. I recommend it as one of the best books about the Titanic tragedy.

I was a child when the Titanic movie came out, so that was my introduction to her historic maiden voyage. I think you should watch the movie!!

I just finished my first Regency romance historical fiction book two days ago. I read "A Lady's Guide to Scandal" by Sophie Irwin. I am still reeling from that book; I absolutely loved it!

I'm getting ready to read my second historical fiction. It's "Titanic: The Long Night" by Diane Hoh. I am also interested in the RMS Titanic, so I was quite delighted to find this post!

I plan on reading Jane Austen books after that! I think it's amazing that you pair teas with books. I am looking at your pairings page and just wow!

I so enjoyed reading this post, thank you for sharing! 😊 I love the sound of all of these books, especially the last one, so I will definitely be adding them to my TBR along with this tea. Maybe I should create myself a teas to be drunk list?! I love the Tiantic movie too, would highly recommend though it is very sad. 😥
