Sounds like when I was growing up and going to junior high (sorry, middle school), and high school, and the only computers I saw were in the lab at school. We lived on the outskirts of the city, on a place we called 'the farm', as it had once been one. My creativity at the time was channeled into making up worlds for a game that was a relative of D&D. I used to take long walks up and down the driveway while doing this. Before that, I had a bike that I rode up and down the driveway and around the yard in circles. A few times I tried stunts without very much success; I believe I got concussed the time I tried to do the whole circuit blindfolded, and made it THREE-QUARTERS of the way, before just missing the time to turn on the last stretch, and waking up on the ground beside my bike after hitting the old barn. I also had wanted to know what would happen if I were to clasp on the handbrakes while pedaling full speed for all I was worth. Similar result. I was definitely a 'free-range' kid.
