I was just sharing with my husband my memories of the library near where I grew up! My friends and I would lay on the grass in the front of the library steps reading what we’d just checked out on a blanket. Directly adjacent to it was a cute little corner coffee store that I couldn’t wait to be old enough to order coffee from. ☕️
I finally did go in and order, I got an iced hazelnut latte and it was perfect! I feel like my default is a vanilla latte whatever strikes me in the moment. I usually don't decide until they ask me and I panic order😂
I love libraries. My mother used to take care of the village library where I grew up and took me with her when I was mere months old. These days I don't frequent the local library very often, but I meet friends for a long weekend of reading at Gladstone's Library each year.
Our "Friends" group runs a yearly reading challenge for everyone at the library, and I'm hoping your scavenger hunt will inspire some creativity in one or more of the months challenges. I'm thinking maybe a quarterly scavenger hunt that matches the seasons. I'm hoping I can convince others of this great idea of yours. :)
this scavenger hunt is so cool! we have scavenger hunts for kids at the library all the time (when we don't, for whatever reason, they get mad at us and tell us to come up with something for them on the spot).
favorite library memory: getting banned from the bookmobile in fourth grade because I wouldn't get off it and the principal at my elementary school had to drag me out. I didn't get to go on it again until I was grown. I've been obsessed with the bookmobile my whole life, and wish I could transfer into a position on it but there is never one open for the job I do. I've done ride a longs and am so excited the whole time I think the staff is happy to be rid of me at the end of the day.
There is no other aroma in the world like that of a gracefully aging hardcover in a public library
Beautifully worded

Thank you for sharing such a cute memory! Did you get coffee from the store when you got older? What's you go-to coffee order?

That sounds delicious!
what’s your go to? I like new ones to try.

What special memories! I love that you have a special friends gathering wrapped up in books. That in quintessentially cozy!✨📖🥰
How fun! A scavenger hunt at a library. Can't wait to share this with my "friends of the library" group.
Thank you so much for sharing! I hope it will share some winter fun with everyone.
