Melissa, just popping in to say I'm so sorry for your loss. I really enjoy your newsletter and can't imagine how difficult it is to share this. I hope that writing about your grief can bring you some measure of comfort.
Thank you so much for sharing these lovely books. Three books that helped me navigate grief and loss are: The Book of Joy by Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama,Victor Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning, and Paul Kalanthi's When Breath Becomes Air. They help you to appreciate life for what it is and can be. They uplift you. Sending you healing wishes.
I'm so sorry for your recent losses. I'm wondering if you've ever read or heard of C.S. Lewis's book A Grief Observed. You might find it a helpful read at this time in your life.
"Extremely candid, the book details the anger and bewilderment that he felt towards God after H's death as well as his impressions of life without her. The period of his bereavement was marked by a process of moving in and out of various stages of grief and remembrance, and it becomes obvious that it heavily influenced his spirituality. In fact, Lewis ultimately comes to a revolutionary redefinition of his own characterization of God: experiencing gratitude for having received and experienced the gift of a true love."
Wishing you peace. Here's the link from which the quote is taken.
Thank you for sharing these resources. I’m so sorry you’re going through this double hit of loss. I lost both my parents close together and it makes you question the universe! Megan Devine’s book was definitely helpful for me too. I also recommend Clare Bidwell Smith’s Conscious Grieving, which is like a field guide for how to grieve.
Thanks for the book recommendations. I just ordered them. Losing my dad in April has been so hard. I'm so sorry you and your family are going through this.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Prayers for you and your family. Thank you for sharing these books.

Thank you, Nava. It does help to talk about it and I hope in the process I can help others. I always appreciate you stopping by. ❤️
